HKPC and ESG One

The Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) announces the launch of ESG One, which aims to support corporate ESG development and promote Hong Kong’s sustainable transition.

ESG One was established at the HKPC Foresight 2024 annual event, which invited many corporate representatives and business representatives to discuss the importance of sustainable development and conduct in-depth analysis of Hong Kong’s ESG development in 2024.

Background of ESG One

To achieve Hong Kong’s goal of halving carbon emissions in 2035 and becoming carbon neutral in 2050, the Hong Kong Productivity Council has set a goal of achieving carbon neutrality in 2040. The ESG One launched this time will enhance companies’ awareness of ESG and build an ESG ecosystem for Hong Kong small and medium-sized enterprises to include different stakeholders and jointly develop ESG strategies through communication and sharing.

As a green and sustainable financial hub, Hong Kong is taking numerous measures in terms of market infrastructure construction, regulatory policy formulation, and financial product issuance. Small and medium-sized enterprises are also important participants in green finance. The Hong Kong Productivity Council began to provide ESG services to enterprises 10 years ago. The launch of ESG One will continue to help small and medium-sized enterprises create value, while achieving industrial growth and economic development and protecting the ecological environment to build a green and livable smart city.

Functions of ESG One

ESG One will use green technology to promote companies to expand their business. Currently, more than 200 companies have joined it. Companies can conduct free online ESG assessments and participate in ESG knowledge sharing seminars, ESG service solution demonstrations, etc.

The Hong Kong Productivity Council states that it will continue to implement the concept of sustainable development in the future and promote corporate participation in ESG to help social development. ESG One will be promoted to more companies, enhance synergy, and help to establish a balanced ESG ecosystem.
