One Earth Summit
Hong Kong hosts the One Earth Summit, which aims to provide a communication platform for achieving net-zero emissions and sustainable transition and promote climate action and sustainable development in Asia.
This One Earth Summit is organized by the Institute of Sustainability and Technology, the World Economic Forum, the Financial Services and the Treasury Bureau of Hong Kong, and InvestHK. 500 representatives from regulatory agencies, financial industry, scientific research institutions and enterprises participated in this summit.

Introduction to the One Earth Summit
The mission of the One Earth Summit is to enhance the well-being of individuals, organizations, and the planet by promoting connectivity, diversity, and inclusion, and creating strategic collaboration across industries and disciplines for innovative solutions. The summit will share perspectives on nature and climate solutions, showcase sustainable innovation in emerging markets across Asia, and connect start-ups with investors.
The One Earth Summit will focus on five issues related to climate and nature. These issues are:
- Water resources and natural resources solutions: The global population is expected to reach 8.5 billion in 2030, and water resources and natural resources will become more important.
- Food and agriculture: The agricultural sector accounts for one-third of global carbon emissions, and sustainable food supply is aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
- Materials and industrial decarbonization: The materials industry needs to move to a circular economy and create green jobs in decarbonization.
- Infrastructure and urban development: Urban development needs to be coupled with net-zero emissions to accommodate population growth.
- Energy transition: the urgency of rapidly adopting renewable energy sources to ensure energy security and mitigate climate change.
